Happy New Year to all our fans worldwide. We are about to embark on our first shows of the year after some well deserved holiday time with family and friends. There is no rest for the wicked though and we are trying to have a more successful year than 2011 which was full of highlights. Notably performing with one of our heroes Prince at his european dates. Another Honest Jons Chop Up with Damon Albarn & Co. was incredible and performances with De La Soul stand out.

We have been hard writing new material to follow up on Bulletproof Brass which we sneaked out last year – click here for Digital Download. And we are planning to release several more heavywieght projects this year.  If you missed Bulletproof Brass, pls go to itunes and buy it or look in your local record store for the limited vinyl (100 are white vinyl – so don’t sleep)

This year you will see us feature on an album written by our Father Kelan Phil Cohran, scheduled to come out on Honst Jonest in the first half of the year along with the highly anticiapted Rocket Juice & The Moon LP along with a new album of original material which is strictly all new Hypnotic music.

Keep an eye out in March also for a special one off remix release with our pals Mr. Scruff  & Colm K, more news on this next week.

The First show of 2012? Columbia!!! We are booked to play in Medellin at the internationally renowned arts & culture Hay Festival where you will see us perform our  straight up drums/brass live show, it’s our first time there so please come through if you’re in the area.

Quantic and a host of other artists in the area too so check the link above for the details. In a couple of week we go to Moscow for a special show followed by an epic one off in Los Angeles with Phil Cohran titled Homage with plenty of special guests, LA showed love the last time we performed alongside Madlib & Miguel Atwood Ferguson. Check the lineup here – More dates for USA to be announced soon, so keep an eye out stateside fans.

We will post up some our favourite photos from our 2011 travels real soon and a free download for good measure.

And finally, it looks like the feature length documentary Brothers Hypnotic will see the light of day in the latter half of this year and we will be screening this worldwide, this project is 7 years in the making so it’s gonna be great to have you all see the real story behind Hypnotic.

You heard we got asked to support Prince this saturday? Well, The Purple One has asked us to join and warm up things for the crowd at Malahide Castle this Saturday July 30th in Dublin. This show we feel could be a defining moment for HBE so to all our fans please come and support us play before one of our heroes. Kelan Phil Cohran

It’s always good to be back home with family and friends, this year is very special, the last 3 years we have been touring around the world at festivals and  it’s been a minute since we got to celebrate 4th of July in our hometown of Chicago, this last week was memorable as we  just finished recording an album with our father (Phil Cohran to those who don’t know) which we hope to put out in the Fall with Honest Jon’s.

There was an amazing energy in the room as we rehearsed and recorded the tracks and we are excited about the final product when its finally mixed down for the fans to listen to. We finished recording on 3rd July just in time for the holiday and before we start our Canadian tour on July 7th. After Canada we are off to the UK, Ireland & Europe, we’ll keep you posted on what happens in between, keep an eye out for us if we swing by a town near you. HBE in your area real soon!
